Project Description
uPVC is a thermoplastic material derived from common salt and fossil fuels. The pipe material has the longest track record of all plastic materials. The first uPVC pipes were made in the 1930s. Beginning in the 1950s, uPVC pipes were used to replace corroded metal pipes and thus bring fresh drinking water to a growing rural and later urban population.
uPVC pipes are certified safe for drinking water per NSF Standard 61 and used extensively for water distribution and transmission pipelines throughout North America and around the world. uPVC is allowed for waste lines in homes and is the most often used pipe for sanitary sewers.
Further pressure and non-pressure applications in the field of sewers, soil and waste, gas (low pressure) and cable protection soon followed. The material’s contribution to public health, hygiene and well-being has therefore been significant.
Polyvinyl chloride or uPVC (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride) pipes are not well suited for hot water lines and have been restricted from inside water supply line use in the USA for homes since 2006.
uPVC has high chemical resistance across its operating temperature range, with a broad band of operating pressures. Max operating temperature is reported at 140 °F (60 °C), and max working pressure: 450 psi (3,100 kPa).
Due to its long-term strength characteristics, high stiffness and cost effectiveness, uPVC systems account for a large proportion of plastic piping installations and some estimations put it that greater than 2,000,000 miles (3,200,000 km) of uPVC pipe are currently in service across applications.
uPVC Pipe is the most important part for Tube-well, Sallow & Deep boaring, irrigational, City water supply connection activities. Rural people are users of different types uPVC pipe for tube wells & water trafficking activities.
Very often they use local made low quality products or buy inferior products with high price. RFL has variety of good uPVC Pipe in different uses categories to meet the demand of consumer.
At present uPVC Pipe is used worldwide for Tube well, Shallow pump, Tara pump & deep tube well, irrigational, City water supply connection. GI, SS pipe used in several years back, after introducing uPVC Pipe uses of GI and SS pipe has totally been stopped. uPVC Pipe durability is high. These uPVC pressure pipes are also widely used in for Agriculture, Irrigation, Water supply, Industrial process lines, Swimming pools, Fire-fighting mains etc. Features of Upvc pipes include 100% virgin material (94% resin and 6% others), long service life, High pressure resistance, Corrosion resistance and Light weight.
The construction industry is growing in different regions due to various reasons, such as population, tourism, urbanization, etc. The growth of the construction industry will, thus, help the growth of the uPVC market. The plastic industry which holds a prominent share in various sectors will also help in boosting the sales of uPVC. uPVC can also be recycled and reshaped, a particular factor that will further push uPVC market growth.
Saj Plastic Industries Ltd (SPI), manufacturer of TAJ uPVC pipe & fittings is the leading manufacturer in Bangladesh specialized in PVC, uPVC, PPR, HDPE, B.S., SWR pipes, fittings & filtering system since it was established in 1992. With an annual production capacity of 10,000 MT, SPI has a large number of employees in administration, sales and marketing. Highly skilled senior machine operators, technical experts and engineers covering 3,000 square metres of factory areas in Gazipur district.
Equipped with latest fully automatic injection molding machines, Conical Extruder Machines and plenty of different Molds, SPI is producing the best quality of PVC, uPVC, PPR, HDPE, B.S., SWR, pressure and non-pressure pies & fittings from 32-355 mm and reaching day by day to the apex of sales turnover covering 64 districts throughout the country. With high-class 100% virgin raw materials imported from Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Spain, Vietnam, strictly following ISO9001 & 2015 to control quality and maintaining the standard of BSTI, Taj uPVC pipe & fittings have been providing high quality products and the best services to the customers since its establishment.
As a leading company in the field SPI is keeping developing and innovating on new products like PVC thread fittings, CPVC pipe and fittings, plastic tanks etc and insisting on customer orientation, sincerity and honesty to create a bright future with clients.
Due to huge market demand, SPI has planned to expand its existing production lines with sophisticated technology and machineries. In this perspective, SPI will add and replace some machineries and equipment in its existing operations with BMRE plan and set up its new unit as a part of SPI’s expansion plan. Under this BMRE and expansion plan, the attainable production capacity will be as follows:
- Existing : 10,406 pcs
- BMRE of Existing Operation : 3,691 pcs
- Expansion (Unit-2) : 183,178 pcs
SPI is manufacturing different types of uPVC Pipes & Fittings. Existing product includes uPVC Pressure Pipes, TAJ uPVC Thread Pipes, TAJ uPVC Filter, TAJ uPVC SWR/ISO, Non-Pressure Pipes, TAJ uPVC Fittings, TAJ HPDE Coil Pipe & TAJ Submersible Pump. BMRE of Existing Operation will include uPVC Pressure Pipes & uPVC Fittings.
During Expansion (Unit-2), further products will be added which will include uPVC Pressure Pipes, TAJ uPVC Thread Pipes, TAJ uPVC Filter, TAJ uPVC SWR/ISO Non-Pressure Pipes, uPVC Fittings, PVC Thread Fittings, Plastic water tank, cPVC Pipe, Thread Tape & Submersible Pump.
The existing project is located at Jhajhar, National University, Gazipur, Bangladesh and the expansion project will be located at Nagorhawla (Baro chala), union – Gazipur, thana- Sreepur, Gazipur Sador, Gazipur, Bangladesh.
Note that, expansion plan will be setup with approximate 30 (Thirty) bigha land and 148,200 square feet pre-fabricated steel structure and RCC buildings.
