Mr. Mohammad A. Hafiz serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of SouthAsia Research & Corporate Advisory Ltd. He is a widely respected business leader and capital market professional in Bangladesh, with decades of distinguished experience in investment banking, merchant banking, and capital market governance.
Mr. Hafiz is an alumnus of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, having earned his MBA in its prestigious 6th batch. He has played a pivotal role in shaping Bangladesh’s investment banking and merchant banking landscape and previously served as President of the Bangladesh Merchant Bankers’ Association (BMBA), where he contributed significantly to policy dialogue, industry development, and professional standards within the capital market ecosystem.
Renowned for his strategic insight and market acumen, Mr. Hafiz possesses deep expertise in investment portfolio management, corporate advisory, and capital market transactions, spanning both the primary and secondary markets. His ability to navigate complex market dynamics and provide sound, institutionally grounded counsel has earned him wide professional recognition.
Mr. Hafiz is a Shareholder of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) and has held several senior leadership positions within leading financial institutions. He is the former Chairman of AAA Finance & Investment Ltd. and Stock & Bond Ltd., and currently serves as Senior Director of Stock & Bond Ltd., a corporate member of the DSE.
Beyond his corporate and financial leadership, Mr. Hafiz has made notable contributions to civic and professional organizations. He is a former President and Chartered Member of the Rotary Club of Banani, Dhaka, and previously served as Deputy Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Rotary International District 3281. He is also a Life Member and Executive Committee Member of both Banani Society and Baridhara Society, and a founding member of Gulshan North Club Ltd.
His broader institutional affiliations include former membership on the Executive Committee of the France–Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, as well as membership in the India–Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and the German–Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of several prominent clubs, including Banani Club Ltd., Baridhara Diplomatic Enclave Club Ltd., and Purbachal Club Ltd.
In addition, Mr. Hafiz has served as an Independent Director of Central Insurance Company Ltd. and Continental Insurance Company Ltd., contributing to governance oversight, regulatory compliance, and board-level strategic guidance.
